The Department of Health Studies at the University of Chicago invites applications for tenure-track/tenured faculty positions in Health Services Research, contingent on budget approval.  The rank of appointments will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. We especially encourage applicants with interests in aging, broadly defined, but all areas of health services interest will be considered.  These positions require a rigorous program of independent research, multidisciplinary collaboration, and teaching of undergraduate, graduate, and medical students and fellows. 

 

Qualifications

 

Appointment at the Assistant Professor level requires

   a) A research doctoral degree in sociology, economics, health services research, or a related discipline.  Applicants who are currently nearing completion of such a degree who expect the degree to be conferred before appointment at Chicago are encouraged to apply.

  b)  Demonstrated potential to establish an independent program of research.

  c)  Research experience in health or health care.

 

Appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level requires

   a) A research doctoral degree in sociology, economics, health services research, or a related discipline.

  b)  An established independent program of research.

  c)  Research publications in health or health care.
